Day 3: Hang out, Sass up, and Blow off

Tuesday has been the laziest day so far. And god said it was good.

We strolled across town to meet up with some new friends Gabe met. We grabbed some sandwiches at a great little gourmet deli and then proceeded to sit on their porch for three hours just chit-chatting and laughing. What a perfect afternoon. This is their rental house. Sweet, eh?

This was our view. A nice unobstructed view of the bay. It was so great, because this town is actually pretty dense with homes, so to have a porch across from an open lot was serendipitous.

Larry & Eldon (pictured here, the two on the left, with Joshua) from Silverlake, were our porch hosts. I had a nice time getting to know them.

We were also hanging with our new bestest buddy, Joshua. Gabe and I have awarded Joshua as the MVNF of the trip (Most Valuable New Friend). Joshua will be in SF for a few weeks in August so I'm excited to be able to see him soon beyond just this trip.
It turned out to be the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Lounging, looking at the water, waving at the straight tourists that would drive by on a little trolley bus. Joshua had these crazy white sunglasses, which look great on him, but just made me look like Elton John.

On the walk home from our awesome afternoon, we popped into this little store called "Map" which is filled (supposedly) with vintage 1980s garb and accessories that are brand new. Um... liar. Not sure I believe that you could continually stock a store with merchandise that has mysteriously surfaced after 25 years. They had these HUGE white sunglasses. And on my small face, I had to snap a shot cuz it seems to have turned into a day of Davey sassing it up with giant white sunglasses.

As we got closer to the house, I caught this pic of the sunset. You might not be able to see but the sunlight rays spraying into the sky were so amazing. It looked like a picture you'd see in a religious book.

After a nice dinner, we went to a big pool-side party called "Blow Off". I guess Blow Off is a big east-coast party that happens in NYC, Boston, and DC. I personally have high expectations that if you're gonna call it a party, and give it a name, then there should be some visual experience that goes with all that. Nope. I guess it's just all about the DJs. [insert yawn here]. Gabe, Joshua, and I spent the evening out on the big poolside deck, chatting and drinking and doing endless fruit loops, cock walks, whore tours, slut struts, clap laps, and, well...troll strolls. ;-)

We, as predicted, ended the night with a few slices of pizza at Spiritus.
